  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 200 g of Fontina or Fontìfette cheese
  • 100 g of flour
  • 50 g of butter
  • One egg

How to make Gnocchi alla valdostana – Aosta Valley style gnocchi

Boil the potatoes in their skins, pass them through a potato masher, mix them with the flour and egg, and then prepare the potato gnocchi. Boil them in boiling salted water and arrange them in layers in a buttered oven dish, alternating with slices of Fontina or Fontìfette, curls of butter, and tomato sauce. Bake for 10 minutes and leave to brown.
